The
American Legion Post 853 Welcome to The American Legion, Post 853, Borrego Springs, California |
|
American Legion Post 853 is located in the heart of the magnificent Anza-Borrego Desert State Park® just five miles outside the village of Borrego Springs, California map and directions. You will enjoy eco tours, hiking, biking, exploring and learning about our 600,000 acre State Park. Our Clubhouse is open 7 days a week from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on a regular basis. We stay open later when it is busy (often) and open early for meetings and special events. We have a full-service bar and offer special event meals on a regular basis during the season. See our Events Calendar for monthly events. Our Auxiliary is very active and host several food events every month during the season. During low season (July and August) activities are held inside to take advantage of our evaporative cooling and air conditioning systems. One of our favorite amenities is our covered deck. Sitting outside and enjoying the view while discussing local, state, and national projects of The American Legion is a daily event at our Post during the season. Our Sons of The American Legion host a monthly barbecue prepared either on the deck or in our deep-pit. |

We have made considerable progress at Post 853 since 1998, and we are all proud of our accomplishments. We are fortunate to have been able to contribute to the community of Borrego Springs through donations from our fund-raising activities, as well as fulfilling our obligations to National and State American Legion projects. It has taken a lot of hard work from our Legion members, along with our Sons of The American Legion and our Women's Auxiliary, to improve our Post.
